The first
thing guests notice when arriving at the newly renovated Fujiyama Japanese restaurant, perched on top of the Avari
Towers iconic skyscraping hotel, (tallest building in Karachi)
are the magnificent and breathtaking 360 degrees panoramic
views of the city, now greatly enhanced by floor to ceiling
windows which have recently been installed. This being just
one of the impressive architectural features of the new
Fujiyama.
The next visual treat to come into view is a brand new
collection of stunning and evocative images of modern and
traditional Japan adorning the restaurant walls, as seen and
interpreted through the lenses of several of the worlds top
Asian specialist photographers, including celebrated works
from Frank Carter, Oliver Strewe, James Marshall, Chris Johns
and Martin Moos.
All exhibits are for sale, including those from the camera of
general manager and amateur photographer Gordon Gorman, with a
portion of the proceeds donated to the hotels corporate social
responsibility program aimed at assisting local charities.
The highly polished black lacquered tables are cleverly
matched with bright red and sparkling white leather chairs,
which blend in well with the overall decorative theme of the
new look eatery, which is both eclectic and yet very Japanese,
with bold use of the primal colors associated with all things
Japanese, including white, black and red.
Dominating the layout of the spacious restaurant are two
massive tepanyaki grills, each seating 10 diners, who can
enjoy sizzling Japanese specialties from the restaurants
master chefs Santo and Hero, both 20 year veterans of this
legendary dining venue which also offers the largest selection
of authentic Japanese food in the city of Karachi, including
superb sushi, succulent sashimi, sizzling seafood and yakatori,
steaming sukiyakis and noodles, and tempting tempura treats,
all prepared, cooked and served in the legendary Fujiyama
style which combines flair and gracious humility for the
perfect service experience.
The restaurant also offers a new Business Bento lunch box
menu, specially designed for busy business people on the move,
and welcomes children for lunch and dinner with a special
junior Samurai menu.
Fujiyama is proud to be the first Japanese restaurant in the
country to operate a 100% no smoking policy, although smokers
may step out on to the adjacent open air Sky Grill terrace
where a special area has been set aside for this purpose.
